F. M. Whiting and Co was founded in 1878 and began using the Frank M. Whiting and company name is 1896.  They were purchased by the Ellmore Silver Company around 1940 which itself closed around 1960.  this lovely glass dish is impressed with a starburst pattern and surrounded with a frame of sterling silver with a raised, beaded edge. It is marked Frank M Whiting & Co Sterling. This would make a fabulous trinket holder for your dresser or a lovely wine coaster! It measures 4 3/8" across.
