Chinese Export 1930's Carved Cinnabar Necklace
This art deco era Chinese export necklace features a beautifully carved cinnabar plaque in a delicate floral design. The ornate setting is silver over a base metal, possibly copper. The back does show plating wear from age and use. The chain has the old style deco clasp, the "thumbless" spring ring which closes securely. The necklace is marked China. The pendant portion measures 2 1/8 by 1 1/4", the chain with pendant length is roughly 19".
