Vintage Carved Black Galalith & Embossed Brass Necklace
This 1930's necklace features a medallion of black galalith hand carved with a lovely floral design. These are often sold as bakelite, but they are not. The galalith is set in an ornate brass setting, the brass heavily stamped in a flower and leaf motif. Each edge of the pendant is curled under in a flattened loop. The pendant measures 2 7/8 by 1 3/4" including the ornate bale. I do not think the twisted double chain is original to the piece, but it came with the pendant and looks great with it. The bale loop is large enough to accept almost any chain or cord. The chain is 17" with a secure spring ring clasp.
