Vintage Mikimoto Sterling Akoya Pearl Cluster Brooch
No one does pearls better than Mikimoto! Ten glowing cultured pearls adorn this flowing sterling design. The largest pearl is 7.5mm, followed by 7mm, five 6mm and three 5.5mm pearls. These pearls are a lovely pearly white with a slight rosy tint. The pearls are in excellent condition, glowing and lustrous. The sterling brooch does exhibit a small amount of patina, easily polished, but I will leave this to the new owner, as some people prefer their pieces this way. The signature features the "M" in a clamshell and and the "S" in a box, for 950 silver, a higher silver standard than the 925 used in most American silver. The brooch measures 2 1/8 by 1 1/4".
